Hello there,

Shape Futures: Apply to be a 2026 PEER Mentor

MENDAKI Club is pleased to announce that mentor recruitment for the 2026 cycle of our flagship youth mentorship programme, PEER (Positive Experiences, Engaging Relationships), is now officially open!

Organised with the support of community partners, M³@Tampines and M³@Woodlands, the PEER programme provides support, encouragement, and positive role models for secondary school students by pairing them with dedicated mentors from tertiary institutions and the working world. The programme incorporates elements of experiential learning and developmental relationships, which mentors facilitate through carefully curated activities.

We are seeking committed individuals from tertiary institutions and the working world to join us as PEER Mentors for the 2026 cycle. This is a meaningful opportunity to guide a young person, build a supportive relationship, and contribute positively to their developmental journey.

Why be a PEER mentor with us?

Well, this is your chance to be part of a growing community of people who are stepping forward to contribute, and uplift the lives of those in the community.

In this instance, your role as a mentor could serve to motivate, guide, empower, and support many youths who are trying to find their footing and direction as they navigate their teenage years and eventually into adulthood.

We've all been there and know how daunting the journey can be. So how about giving this mentorship gig a try? We promise that you will not regret it!

What's the selection process like?

To ensure the suitability of candidates, all applicants will go through an interview and screening process with relevant programme stakeholders prior to selection. Candidates will be assessed on factors such as an individual's motivation, attributes that would be key to being a good mentor, and past track record of leadership or mentorship experience.

Selected mentors are subsequently sent for mentorship training sessions with mentoring experts before the PEER programme commences.

What is the expected commitment level?

Mentors are required to commit to the following programme components:

1. Orientation & Training

  • 1 x Orientation Session (February 2026)

  • 1-2 x Training Sessions (January 2026)

2. Programme Sessions (Saturdays, February - August 2026)

  • 12 x Bi-weekly Mentoring Sessions from 14 February - 1 August 2026

  • Sessions include: Community Sessions, Social Bonding, Squad Outings, Career & Life Skills Workshops

Session Schedule:

  • PEER@Tampines: Saturdays, 9:00am - 12:30pm

  • PEER@Woodlands: Saturdays, 2:00pm - 5:30pm

Note: You will be paired with another mentor to ensure consistent support for your mentees throughout the programme duration.

Could you share what I can expect from the programme?

What Mentors say:

“The most rewarding part of being a mentor is witnessing the personal development of my own mentee. Initially, she was very shy and timid. By the end of the programme, she was very outspoken and able to express herself freely with others.”
